John Macaskill-Smith

A serial health systems innovator, John brings 20+ years experience in senior roles in the public health system for the Health Funding Authority and Ministry of Health, as well as regionally leading New Zealand’s second largest PHO. 

In the private sector, John has delivered new ownership models for primary care, as well as innovative clinic and digital services in NZ and around the globe.

At Tend, John leads the day-to-day operations of our clinical infrastructure and works alongside the wider leadership team to facilitate and advise on clinic acquisitions, as well as leveraging insights into the healthcare sector to build out new models. Passionate about bringing patient-centred care to the foreground of health experiences, joining Tend provided a logical step in transforming healthcare experiences in New Zealand.
