Theresa is one of New Zealand's leading businesswomen, an author and philanthropist. In her CEO role at Telecom (Spark), she became the first woman to lead a large-scale New Zealand public company.

In 2012, alongside James and Cecilia, Theresa co-founded My Food Bag, creating the meal kit category in New Zealand. Theresa was Chair of AIA Australia, Australia’s largest Group Life Insurance company, 2010 – 2021 and is currently Chair of AIA New Zealand. She is also Chair of Global Women and a member of the National Advisory Board on the Employment of Women.  Theresa was instrumental in bringing SheEO to New Zealand - supporting, financing and celebrating female entrepreneurs.

In 2021 she founded the Gattung Foundation which was launched officially in October 2022.  The Foundation’s main charitable purposes are to support the relief of poverty, the education and advancement of women, Māori and Pasifika to reduce inequality and the care, support and protection of animals.

She has multiple prestigious awards. In 2018 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award at the NZ Women in Influence Awards. She was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame in 2023  and was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2015 for services to business and philanthropy.
