Amy studied nursing at Christchurch Polytechnic and commenced her nursing career at North Shore Hospital.  She has always had a passion for working with children and was fortunate to transition to paediatrics at Starship Hospital in Auckland following her stint at North Shore.

Her desire to travel saw her living abroad for four years, including time spent in the United Kingdom and outback work in Australia, where she provided a mix of emergency nursing and paediatrics. It was in Australia that she completed postgraduate study, gaining her PG certificate in general paediatrics through the University of Tasmania.

After returning to NZ, Amy moved back into children’s emergency at Starship, and more recently has been involved in occupational health in the construction industry. Amy is excited to be part of the Tend team and is looking forward to the positive impact it will have on New Zealanders. In her spare time, she loves to bake and spending time with her eight nieces and nephews.

I love the variety of work that nursing provides, getting to know people, especially children, and helping them move towards living their healthiest lives is a truly rewarding experience.
