Dr Elinor Slater is a specialist General Practitioner with an impressive medical background and training.

She obtained her degree from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1990.Throughout her career, Elinor has dedicated herself to providing high-quality healthcare as a GP in Queenstown for over 20 years. She's also achieved a Fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners NZ since 2003 and holds several postgraduate qualifications, including Travel Medicine and Women’s Health.

Elinor’s special areas of interest lie in travel & expedition medicine and all aspects of women’s health, including contraception, sexual health, and menopause medicine. Being a female GP, she believes it is crucial to be involved in women’s health and strives to improve their quality of life. Elinor recognises menopause as an important but often neglected part of life’s journey and advocates for maintaining a premium quality of life during this period.

As a clinician, Elinor finds great joy in working with people and helping them stay healthy. She delights in the challenge of assisting individuals in becoming the best versions of themselves.

Outside of work, Elinor enjoys indulging in outdoor activities. She finds solace and happiness in skiing, biking, and tramping, all of which allow her to connect with nature.

As a female GP it is inevitable you will be involved in women's health & I enjoy trying to make life as good as it can be for women. I believe that menopause is an important but often neglected part of our journey & that we need to strive to keep quality of life at a premium at this important time in life.
