Frequently asked questions

How do I book an appointment?
The fastest and easiest way to book an appointment is via the Tend app.

However you’re welcome to also call us or message us.

Call your clinic or fill in our contact form.

How much does Tend cost?
You can see us casually or you can enrol with us and enjoy cheaper fees and access to funded medical services.

Your enrolled fees will be based on your age and the location of your enrolment (usually the closest Tend clinic to your residing address). The fee for a casual patient general consult is $79.

See here for a list of fees at our clinics.

How do I pay for my Tend appointment?
Enrolled patients can pay via the in-app payment method, credit/debit cards, cash or bank transfer.

All casual patients pay by credit/debit card in the app.
What does it mean to enrol with Tend and how do I enrol?
Enrolling means our doctors and nurses become your main contact for your primary healthcare needs. Once enrolled, you enjoy cheaper pricing, and
children under 14 years old are free. You can only enrol with one GP practice at a time.

Enrolling via the app takes just three minutes.

To get started all you need is a smartphone, NZ phone number, email address, debit/credit card and passport/driver’s license/other ID to verify your identity.

We take care of all the paperwork, including transferring your health records from your existing medical practice. Records transfer is a secure electronic process overseen by Te Whatu Ora.

Once enrolled, you will have access to a wider range of Tend benefits, including health checks, screening reminders, and ordering repeats.
