Tend Health, an award-winning Kiwi-owned primary healthcare provider and technology company, is delighted to announce the acquisition of Chadwick Healthcare Group in Tauranga.

Chadwick Healthcare Group comprises four well-established medical clinics - Bethlehem, Greerton, South City, and Tauriko, serving diverse communities across the Bay of Plenty.

This milestone marks another significant opportunity for Tend Health to further expand its primary health care services across Aotearoa. The acquisition also addresses the escalating demand for more accessible primary healthcare in the rapidly growing Bay of Plenty region.

Tauranga is a city on the rise with an estimated 45,000 new residents expected over the next three decades. This growth poses significant challenges to the existing medical services in the area. Many practices are operating at full capacity and are unable to accommodate new patients, placing considerable strain on the region's health services.

Tend's patient-centred approach and innovative model of care are uniquely positioned to address these challenges, providing comprehensive healthcare solutions to the Bay of Plenty community.

"Our focus at Tend is to transform primary healthcare, provide better access and improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for people across Aotearoa," says Tend co-founder and CEO Cecilia Robinson.

"Through this strategic acquisition, we bring Tend’s cutting-edge technology and a distinctive Model of Care to the Bay of Plenty - designed to alleviate pressures faced by clinicians and patients alike. We’re committed to ensuring that more people and whānau in the region receive the care they need, when they need it. Our technology also reduces clinical administrative burdens, empowering our doctors and nurses to spend more time with patients, whether it be in-clinic or through online consultations."

Chadwick Healthcare has always been at the forefront of innovation in primary healthcare. The partnership with Tend offers more opportunity to improve access and health equity across the Bay of Plenty - especially for underserved whānau and remote communities where access is limited.

"We are thrilled about the opportunity with Tend to enhance health equity and improve healthcare access in the Bay of Plenty," said Marshall Hollister-Jones, GP owner at Chadwick. "Our shared vision for the future of healthcare makes Tend the ideal partner to create positive impacts for the Chadwick patient community and support the region's continuous development."

The integration of Tend's innovative model of care, technology, and consumer-facing brand into the Chadwick clinics will occur gradually, in partnership with the respective clinics, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and staff while continuing to maintain the high standard of care.

With the addition of Chadwick to its network, Tend takes another step closer to realising its vision and remains committed to providing better access and improved health outcomes for people across Aotearoa.
