Emergency Contraception Pill
Chat to a Tend clinician up to 72 hours after unprotected sex and get a prescription for the Emergency Contraception Pill (ECP) to prevent pregnancy.
Alternatively, plan ahead and get a prescription for the morning after pill before the need arises. You can keep it at home, and take it as needed.
This consult can be done online or in-clinic. You can book this service through our app under 'services'
While the ECP is excellent in emergencies, it is not recommended for long term contraception. Talk to our team about the wide range of long term contraception options available to you.
Copper IUD
A copper IUD can be inserted up to 5 days after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy.
This form of contraception requires a trained clinician to insert the IUD inside the uterus (womb). Once inserted it can be left in place for ongoing contraception.
The IUD is the most effective form of emergency contraception for women who weigh over 70kg/BMI >26.
You will need to see a doctor for an initial consultation before an IUD insertion.
