Tend Health, the innovative digital healthcare provider, has won the Most Innovative Hi-Tech Service Award at the New Zealand Hi Tech Awards 2023.

The competition was fierce, with outstanding finalists in the category including global healthcare software company Orion Health.

But it was Tend’s unique and innovative service, with a strong focus on promoting more equitable healthcare access and outcomes across Aotearoa, that made it stand out from the rest. The judges were impressed by Tend’s  "inside out" approach and the dedication of  their purpose-driven founders to leaving a positive health legacy for Aotearoa

“At Tend, we are reimagining the future of primary healthcare in Aotearoa, for everyone. We are driven by our purpose to help New Zealanders be the healthiest people in the world, and we are building a 100-year Kiwi-owned healthcare provider company for our future generations,” says Co-founder and Director of Health Equity, Dr Mataroria Lyndon.

“Through collaboration we combine the best of clinical care, smart technology, and people to deliver a patient and whānau experience that is convenient, accessible, and focused on the full spectrum of preventative, proactive and acute care needs,” says Dr Lyndon.

Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Josh Robb said it was humbling to see Tend’s  technology and team's dedication and mahi being recognised. “We are proud to be a health provider winning at New Zealand's premiere technology awards. We will continue driving technological innovation in healthcare and we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our communities, says Robb.

Tend extends a special thanks to Callaghan Innovation and the Hi-Tech Trust. The awards are an incredible showcase of outstanding achievements in the New Zealand technology sector.  “It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many talented individuals and organisations at one truly spectacular event. Our congratulations go to all finalists and winners.” says Robb.
