Donna is a nurse prescriber at Tend Symonds Street. She began her healthcare career as an exercise physiologist, majoring in cardiac rehabilitation. Realising her passion for direct patient care, she retrained as a registered nurse, earning a Master of Nursing and qualifying as a registered nurse prescriber.

With over eight years of experience in primary care, and a brief stint as a sexual health nurse before joining Tend, Donna enjoys the dynamic nature of general practice. She is passionate about using a holistic approach, as she believes every area brings its own unique challenges and rewards, keeping her work interesting and fulfilling.

Donna values collaborating with individuals and their whānau to come up with solutions that genuinely work for them. For her, making a difference in people’s lives, no matter how small, makes her job meaningful and worthwhile.

In her spare time, she loves weight training, hiking, surfing, and diving into a good book, keeping herself active and engaged.

I enjoy working with individuals to come up with solutions that work for them along with engaging with whānau to ensure overarching support.
