Jon grew up in the UK and initially completed a degree in Biochemistry, before training at Warwick Medical School as a graduate.

His path in medicine led him to serve as a doctor in the West Midlands, close to Birmingham, where he gained valuable experience in the medical field. He decided to make the move to Christchurch with his partner after falling in love with New Zealand when he came here for his medical school elective 10 years ago.

He particularly enjoys working in general practice due to the continuity of care it allows, and believes that getting to know patients and their families over time allows for more effective and personalised care.

Jon is a big sports fan (rugby in particular), but also enjoys music and the gym, as well as spending time exploring the incredible locations and scenery that New Zealand has to offer.

I really enjoy working in general practice due to the community care it allows. I believe that getting to know my patients and their families allows for more effective and personalised care.
