Martha is a Registered Nurse at Tend Harewood with extensive experience in intensive care and operating theatre nursing, working with both younger and older patients. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Carroll University in the United States and has undertaken several Masters level nursing courses at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Her areas of interest include ICU, critical care and clinical leadership. Martha is drawn to these areas for the opportunity to apply critical thinking in high-pressure environments and values the meaningful connections built with patients and their families during challenging times.

Martha finds great purpose in supporting people through times of vulnerability and change. She draws upon her faith for strength and is committed to making a difference in the lives of her patients, no matter how big or small.

In her down time, Martha enjoys spending time with her husband and three children being in the great outdoors skiing, mountain biking, ocean swimming, camping and kayaking. She also enjoys cooking for family and friends.

I enjoy getting to know the patients and hearing their stories. It makes me feel happy when I know I have made a difference in the patient’s lives no matter how big or small, even when the outcome is very difficult to face. I rely on my faith to give me strength to help families and patients when they are most vulnerable, remembering that I am vulnerable also.
