Muna is a vocationally trained GP and Rural Hospital Medicine specialist, balancing urban General Practice in Christchurch with rural hospital medicine mainly in Oamaru. With a strong background in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, he later transitioned into General Practice and Rural Hospital Medicine. He also has a keen interest in mental health.

Passionate about equitable healthcare, he aims to help improve systems both in New Zealand and his home country Zambia. Outside work, he serves on the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (DRHM) Council in the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and chairs the DRHM Board of Studies, while also leading the Zambians in Aotearoa Association (ZIAA)

He lives in Christchurch with his family and enjoys traveling when possible.

I’m passionate about equitable healthcare and want to help improve systems both here in New Zealand and back home in Zambia.
