Nicola brings extensive nursing experience to Tend Ashburton, having developed her expertise across both hospital and community settings. After completing her studies in Dunedin, she spent five years at Christchurch Hospital working in paediatric surgical and oncology wards, gaining valuable experience in specialised child healthcare.

Her career path then led her to community nursing, where she served six years in Timaru and Ashburton district nursing services. She joined Tend Ashburton in 2022, bringing her comprehensive nursing experience to primary care.

Nicola has a special interest in palliative care and wound care, areas where she finds satisfaction in problem-solving and improving patients’ quality of life. She particularly values the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients and their families.

Outside of nursing, Nicola enjoys quality time with her children, often camping and boating at the lakes. She maintains an active lifestyle through playing tennis, biking, hiking and recently completed her first Spring Challenge.

I find satisfaction in solving complex healthcare challenges and building meaningful connections with patients and their families to make a real difference in their quality of life.
