Dr. Barbara Schafer

Barbara was born in Montreal, Canada, and has spoken English, French and German from an early age.

She did her medical training and degree in Montreal, then worked in Ottawa for a year before moving to New Zealand with her husband.

After spending some time as a Senior House Officer at Auckland Hospitals, Barbara has been working as a General Practitioner in Pakuranga since 1988. Her passion lies in building long-term relationships with her patients and their families as they journey through life together. Barbara takes pride in providing exceptional care, treating her patients with the same level of attention and consideration that she would expect for herself and her own family.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoys cycling, gardening and keeping connected with family and friends.
