Am I eligible to enrol?

You must be living permanently in New Zealand to be entitled to enrol with a primary healthcare provider. 

The definition of living permanently in NZ is that you intend to be a resident in New Zealand for at least 183 days in the next 12 months. 

You will be entitled to enrol if you are a:

• New Zealand citizen and living permanently in New Zealand (this includes people from the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau)
• Resident visa holder of a resident visa or permanent resident visa 
• Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident AND able to show you have been in New Zealand or intend to stay in New Zealand for at least 2 consecutive years
• Work visa/permit holder and legally able to be in New Zealand for at least 2 years
• Interim visa holder who was eligible immediately before the interim visa started
• Refugee or protected person
